Just For Posterity

The Same Ol' View Earlier This Morning

We have to keep a record of these things, yanno?  Coz at some point the children will wonder what future geezers are on about when they reminisce fondly about "winter" and "snow." I've heard things like this may be few and far between in our Brave New World:

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE -- Due to inclement weather, non-mission essential personnel should report to duty at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, unless otherwise directed by chain of command, according to a news release from Cannon Air Force Base.
Mission essential personnel will report at normal times, the release stated.
Ah... the Good Ol' Days.  We be livin' in 'em right now!

(You will note, Gentle Reader, that I refrained from pissing and moaning about snow and cold and ice and wind and winter in general.  That's because it's gonna warm up later on.  Tis just a passing thing today.)

  1. I shoveled snow off the deck of new house today. If the weather would cooperate, maybe we could get a roof on it. I feel like bitchin' and moanin'.

  5. Thank you for not complaining. We are in a 4-5 day cycle now of rain, snow, sleet, rain, snow, etc...

I love New England. I love New England.

  6. Gonna snow in Northwest stinkin' Louisiana tonight.

I'll piss, and moan enough for both of us, Buck. Normally by Feb. 23 (#2 son's birthday btw), we've had at least 10 or 12 days in the high 70s...even low 80s.

Nothin'! I think Al Gore is gonna have to take another go-round at life after this'un...

  7. Luckily, we seem to have dodged a bullet here in North Texas, at least where I live, anyway. We were supposed to get more snow, but it's only been overcast and COLD.
    Stay warm, Buck!

  9. Lots of melting, which means lots and LOTS of water!!

Talking about junk for the weekend, I don't know. Kinda tired of winter. But it hasn't really been cold -- you know, COLD!!

Hope you are having some melting, too.

  10. At 7300 feet just a couple hunnert miles west of you, I'm quite sick of finding places to put the snow. Decent meltage today though.

Courage. Our problems are small. Keep a decent drip tonight. Word is it's gonna be darn cold.

  12. Nary a flake of snow in my neck of the woods this year. Here's hoping things stay that way.

I see that the "climatologists" have decided it's time to rethink their data. Big surprise there.

  13. Hey there,
This is unrelated to other comments, BUT I'm thinking seriously about moving to Portales. I was wondering what you could tell me about it?

    Thanks :)

  14. Thanks for all your kind wishes... and I'm glad for those of you who DIDN'T get snow yesterday. For those of you who are in the same boat, well... I sympathize (Kris-Andy-Bob).

We continue to warm up and all what remains of the snow should be gone tomorrow. There will be Outdoor Happy Hour Saturday if all goes to plan!
