As always... click for larger. And spare a thought and a prayer today for those who made the ultimate sacrifice 65 years ago. There were many thousands who gave their lives for freedom on this day...
And fewer left everyday to thank in person.
ReplyDeleteThere is a "gathering of eagles" -- the Greatest Generation -- this weekend in New Orleans at the WW II Museum (formerly the D-Day Museum) in which representatives from each state will be recognized and honored.
They truly did "save the world."
(p.s. -- I figured out how to get out of Younger Daughter's account!)
Moogie, the D-Day/WWII Museum in The Crescent City is truly a national treasure, and should be required visiting for everyone under the age of 60.
ReplyDeleteBuck, MEN! MEN! MEN those young boys were. God rest 'em all in peace...even those that have not yet left us.
WV: "boyease," as in "what the damn Germans and Japs robbed from 'em."
Agreed, Moogie and Andy... on ALL counts.
ReplyDeleteIt overwhelms my mind to think of D-Day. So much loss in order to win.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless them all - and thank you!
ReplyDeleteLou and Cynthia: Agreed, yet again.
