Blog-Bud Moogie sends along a link to an interesting article about the politics o' beer, which includes this snappy graphic:
No wonder the nation is in such sad shape... we all seem to be drinking swill, with the exception o' Guinness, Sammy Adams, Labatt Blue, and (perhaps) Blue Moon. Thus sayeth the beer snob.
Speakin' o' beer... we did Round Two o' that Blue Moon Pumpkin Ale yesterday but we only went half the distance before we poured the remainder down the sink and got us sumthin' a lil more to our liking. So the verdict is in: yeccch. No mas, por favor.

Well...my favorite beer skews even further to Republicans than Sam Adams.
ReplyDeleteYou can figure it out...
Jax? Pearl? ;-)
DeleteHeh!
ReplyDeleteYou're old.
And in the way.
DeleteNyuk...
ReplyDeleteAs I prefer German beer, I'm guessing I would be well past the upper right corner of the chart. Ein Birburger bitte! (Gesturing with his right thumb aloft doncha know...)
ReplyDeleteI fully understand the appeal of German beer, and I've hoisted a few steins o' such in the way-back and the present,as well. As a s'matter o' fact, I consider Franziskaner to be the BEST wit beer in the world. That said, I find the German beer we get here in the US to be inferior to the far fresher and more available American craft beers. Just sayin', yanno?
DeleteWell, this conservative dyed-in-the-wool GOP Geezer is an outlier for sure. Of the beers listed that I like, 5 of 'em, MGD, Dos Equis, Guiness, Becks, and Michelob, all skew towards donkey-land. Oh Noooooes....What is this Elephant to do?
ReplyDelete(PS: Only two, Miller High Life--the original sharper-tasting formula, not the present changed formula w. less bite--and Rolling Rock are in the Elephant sector for me..)
What is this Elephant to do?
DeleteDrink better beer? ;-)
Drink better Beer? I want you to know I HIGHLY resemble that remark--in fact I TOTALLY represent it! You DID remember, did you not, that I am a TOTALLY unrepentant Philistine..
DeleteI am a TOTALLY unrepentant Philistine..
DeleteYup, and that's why I luv ya, Virg. There are so few of us left.
Jesse is suppose to pick up some Kolsh (?) beer this weekend - for tasting and brewing ideas.
ReplyDeleteDo ya mean Grolsch, Lou?
DeleteGrolsch has nifty re-sealable bottles, with wire closures. Their bottles are pretty popular with home brewers.
DeleteNope, it is kolsch style. We picked up some Alaskan Summer Kolsch Style Ale while in WF yesterday. It is pretty good - I even like it. They had some St. Arnold's Lawnmower - a Kolsch beer, but Toby had tasted it before and did not like it that well.
DeleteI had to google that, and I learned sumthin'. A lot, actually. I've never had a Kolsch style beer and never drank any while I was in Europe, either. I seriously doubt I'll find any here in the Great American Beer Desert, but ya never know.
DeleteDisturbing to say the least. I don't like this graph - Not. One. Bit.
