Saturday: A Date Which Will Live In Infamy

  1. About the only time a warship is truly vulnerable is when it is in port. I have always found it intriguing that while the air defenses in Pearl Harbor and the rest of the Pacific were non-existent in 1941, the ASW defenses were first rate. Today we would fare disastrously against all threats in any port. Here were are, a nation at war since 2001, and our ports and warships are wide open to exactly the kind of attack our enemies specialize in.
