From the Usual USAF Source, of course. Apropos o' not much, the skies over P-Ville are back to beautiful status, after what seemed like forever gray. I think "forever" might have been three or four days, in this particular case. We're pretty spoiled.

Gawd, they don't really shoot up Phantoms for practice, do they?
ReplyDeleteThey do, indeed. But they're just about out of QF-4s, which means they'll begin shooting up QF-16s pretty soon.
DeleteMakes me sick to even think of it, let valone be reminded by photos..Please! NO MORE reminders of what is compared to what once was...fossiles need to dream, you know...sigh..
ReplyDeleteBut isn't it better they go out in a blaze o' glory rather than wasting away... out of both sight and mind... at Davis-Monthan?
DeleteI agree. At least for planes. For humans (me in particular), not so sure.:-)
Delete@Dan: Point taken!
DeleteI used to love F-4's. I was at Keesler in 1973 when the Thunderbirds did their show with F-4's. God almighty! Nothing can compare to the noise. T-38's and F-16's are cute, but having five f-4's in formation above you in full afterburner will give you an erection. I think everyone within 10 miles had sex after the show (except me)...
ReplyDeleteI saw the T-birds twice in F-4s and had almost the same reaction, including the sex. Ya GOTTA love wimmen who love jets!
