Today's Happy Hour Soundtrack

More from deep in the musical archives... Van Morrison, surprisingly:

Angeliou oh Angeliou
Oh oh Angeliou Angeliou
Oh Angeliou oh Angeliou oh my Angeliou

In the month of May

In the month of May
In the city of Paris
In the month of May
In the month of May
In the city of Paris
And I heard the bells ringing, and I heard the bells ringing
In the month of May
In the city of Paris and I called out your name
I say surprisingly because so very, very few of Van The Man's songs are actually on the Tube O' You.  It's happily surprised, we are.  But... the tune is from "Into the Music," an album that got a tremendous amount of air play back in Former Happy Days and one we are listening to today (albeit on a very good cassette recording).  I bought the album when it was released in 1979 and it wasn't but a year or so later when The Second Mrs. Pennington and I found ourselves "in the city of Paris"... like this:

Main dans la main à Paris (click to embiggen)
We heard the bells ring...

  1. Certainly you must have a miniature Eiffel tower to display in your new home! :-)

  2. Makes me want to stop and have a thin pancake (Crepe, with a dribbling of Benedictine) and a half liter of 1664.

Buck, you remind me how lucky I be...

  3. I thought I would play with your picture. I felt it needed a tilt to the right and a little more oomph! :-)

  6. Hmm, I still didn't tilt the picture far enough, so I gave it another go this morning.

Take a copy, and I will delete it here.

I love playing with photoshop. I used to play in the darkroom, and this is playing in the lightroom I guess :-)

  7. Anon: So... that pic of BB and her car was mis-labled, as I thought. Who the Hell ever heard of an Aimca? Google "54 Simca" and you'll see what I mean.

marchent: I snagged a copy; good work... yet again. Thanks!

  8. My bad, yes I knew it was a Simca but gave you too deep a link. Here's the page it is shown on:

I actually owned a Pinto once (sorry, it's true) and I think with 1800 cc it had about the same horsepower as the Simca :-)
