Physics

Today we're going to discuss... however briefly... Newton's Third Law, which states:
Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two bodies are equal, opposite and collinear. This means that whenever a first body exerts a force F on a second body, the second body exerts a force −F on the first body. F and −F are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. This law is sometimes referred to as the action-reaction law, with F called the "action" and −F the "reaction". The action and the reaction are simultaneous.
That's from The Wiki.  Here's an illustration of those forces of action and reaction in the real world, presented in the spirit of "a picture is worth a thousand words:"

We only include this specific example to encourage you to consider the laws of motion and their effects and because today is a BIG beach sorta day, bein' as how it's the height of summer.  So go on... get out there!  You might could see sumthin' similar to the above, assuming you live near a beach.  I don't and more's the pity, because I LOVE to observe science in action.

  1. Looks like the Law of Gravity's in play, too.

  2. Except for that gal in the center. She seems to have overcome gravity quite nicely. But what goes up MUST come down...

  3. We must hope what goes up must come down, otherwise that is one scary-looking woman.

  6. Women running naked at the beach. I hate it when that happens. Shame I wasn't there to voice my disapproval.

Right there is why I like women with small glands. Not even 30 and looking like the cover of National Geographic...

I wonder what tribe they are with?

  8. Jimmy: You've shattered my illusions on more than one front. ;-)

Cabbie: I'm with you. I'd give that girl on the far right a serious dressing down. Just for starters.

Milky: Everyone's a critic, eh? As for their tribe... they're Ubangis, according to Jimmy.

  9. Actually...

When I was 16 I took photography in high school. I told the Dean of Boys I was bonkers about photography and asked him if there was anything in the job wanted area on this, even if it was non-pay.

I was lucky! I got a 3-month summer gig with a professional photographer who did business equipment photography. You know, those really good looking men and women who stood by a Xerox machine and just looked gorgeous.

I bring this up, because he said something that stuck with me for years. He told the models he would never make them look bad.

I thought, what is he going on about! Then he told me, amongst my jobs was to make sure the model didn't have their zipper undone, or their skirt crooked, etc.

In my view, this picture makes the models look bad, therefore a volation of a photographers contract with a model, to never make them look bad.

I mean, only the last girl has a good pose, and all the rest look bad (artistically).

There, I said it, and that's what I learned when I was 16, so there...

  10. I dunno, Anon. I think they ALL look fabulous! Any one of those five ladies could come spend a weekend with me here in P-Ville ANY ol' time. But I agree with you on one point: Number Five is the best lookin' one of the bunch.

  11. They all look like they might be in some pain after having those things bounce around so violently. I volunteer to give all of them a healing massage.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
