Hockey Night In Canada's opening montage from last Saturday night...
Watch in HD if ya can. While the video is heavy on Canadian teams there's a lil something in it for almost every hockey fan. Most excellent, indeed.

If a lifetime can be likened to a day, then this is Happy Hour!
Okay, Buck.
ReplyDeleteI watched the video. Because I know you love the sport so much...and because over the last couple of years I've developed a great affection for many Canadian bloggers that live and die with what happens on the ice...and because I've got fambly in the biz (I've been down that road, so I won't fight twice over the same real estate), I looked at it.
Honestly, those are some tough motor-scooters. I mean, I've developed a true respect for them all...from the little younguns with fresh faces to the old guys what have lost all they toofers.
I'm tryin' real hard, Ringo. I just might be convertin'...there might be ONE other sport that really matters.
Good On Ya, Andy.
ReplyDeleteWhat was not to like in that video? It was like hockey has it all.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Lou... agreed!

ReplyDeleteThe thought occurred to me this afternoon while prepping for tonite's game... You know why hockey is BETTER than college ball (which I dearly love, as you know)? There's MORE of it. MUCH more.
Come to think of it, you're right, Buck. Most all college football is on Satidy...but now they have it on Thursday, Friday, and sometimes on Sunday...maybe even on Monday...heck, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteUsually those "off Saturday" games suck, until the bowls come around.
But, I can certainly see how having a sport you enjoy available dang near every night for several months could add to the love.
It's kinda like baseball. For about 20 of my adult years, I was a real fan of it. It was comforting to know that I could come home, and there would ALWAYS be a game to watch for at least half the year.
Interesting...
Hockey could use another Andy!
ReplyDeleteHNIC does really take care of business, doesn't it?

ReplyDeleteYou're right... coz there's NEVER a marquee game outside of Saturday during the regular season. And I agree with S-Andy: we'll welcome you into the fold with open arms. C'mon home, L-Andy.
HNIC is the best, S-Andy. NO doubt about that.
