Blog-Bud Louisiana Andy quoted one Shirley Q Liquor in comments yesterday and being the curious sort we are... we were off to YouTube after an intermediate stop at The Wiki. And we found true wisdom. Here's Shirley on homosexicals:

ReplyDeleteI used a double negative; I ain't even started drinkin' yet!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say that Shirley is funny, but uncomfortably so. The Race Pimps have made it impossible for anyone to question racial relations unless the questioner happens to be of the correct color.
My favorite line was when Shirley calls her self a "Louisiana- American".
We be Balkanizin' usse'ves, yessum.
And Buck, you always have the coolest commenters!
"Tell yo' Momma I axed how she durrin'."
ReplyDeleteYeah Buck, Chuck Knipp is one talented dude. Pam has two or three Shirley Q. CDs...and after the 14 millionth time, they are still funny.
I might be wrong on the numbers, but it seems like at one time about 400 radio stations carried Shirley Q.'s short pieces daily. Hil-stinkin'-larious.
Ebonics Airways, Self Breast Exam, Slave in my own church...everything the guy does is side-splitting.
He is a homosexual, you know...libertarian...interesting guy. If you ever run across his "Dr. Williams" videos, they are just as funny as Shirley & Betty...
Hang on...Okay, the video on Reassurance, and the others are just funny...at least to me.

Darryl: Yessir, we are blessed with a fine, fine commentariat. I learn a lot from folks who drop by these parts. re: Balkinization. Yup. I'm a NEW Mexican, I think. When I'm not bein' a Tejano. Or a damnyankee. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAndy: Thanks for that link. I have a whole LOT of boredom killing fodder now!
Andy, you're a minor god for passing along that link.
ReplyDeleteBuck, that was a mighty fine share.
Daphne, I live to serve.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, some of Chuck's stuff...one day the dude called Greyhound, trying to make reservations for Shirley & her 19 children from Beaumont, TX to Vidalia, LA...the poor little girl that answered the phone never knew what hit her.
And, the "12 Days of Kwaanza"...
Ken Hamblin the radio guy out of Denver (The Black Avenger? I think he's off the air now) "hired" Shirley Q to go cover the Democrat Convention in 2000 (I think). I'll swear, her reports from the Convention were some of the funniest radio I have ever heard in my life. "Hillary Rodman Clifford, and Al Grover" were the stars...hilarious!
Knipp is a talented guy. Conflicted for sure...but as comedians go, he's very near the top of my list.
Then again, I'm weird...
Uh,well,ok.
ReplyDelete(I liked when she said that's from the Bible, or did I read that in the Enquirer.)
