Terrible News
Lin, the proprietress of Creek Journal, lost her life partner and best friend Terry (aka Mark, on Creek Journal) to a heart attack yesterday. I received the news this morning in an e-mail Lin sent late last night.
I'm simply stunned and overwhelmed. Life, and our relationships, are so very fragile and ultimately transitory. Say a prayer for Lin today and keep her in your thoughts, please.

Prayer said, Buck.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. My prayers are going out to her.
ReplyDeleteBuck, I am so glad you posted this for Lin's friends to see. I received her email late last night too and I have been feeling shock and disbelief since then. I was so hopeful that they were going to have time to get the help Mark needed. I am just heartbroken and don't have the words to make any sense of this one. I am just praying for Lin and that her strength which we know so well can get her through this. I wish there was something we could do for her.
ReplyDeleteAnd everyone ...don't delay...tell your loved ones how much they mean to you ... today!!!
Thanks, Jim.
ReplyDeleteJenny: shocking, to say the very least.
Sharon: I'm with you... I was hoping there was time for Mark to get the help he needed. Words always fail me when a loved one dies. Most of us have experienced it, but it NEVER gets easier to deal with. All any of us can do is "be there," and that seems like so little in the face of such a loss. One feels SO helpless.
I woke up this morning to read Lin's e-mails....way too many of our smallish group are losing one's close to them.
ReplyDeleteI am shocked and saddened for Lin. She reminds me of so many of my good friends and memories in NM. My heart goes out to her.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that is terrible. My heart also goes out to her.
ReplyDeleteThere've been times in the past, when I've heard this kind of news. that I have tried to imagine myself in that position. By doing that, I have realized that there is nothing that anyone can say or do to make a difference. I'm very sorry for your friend's loss and I am praying that God will comfort her.
ReplyDeleteI am also sorry for Lin's loss and for all those close to him, it is indeed a shockingly sad and grievous thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your kind thoughts, all y'all. Lin has put up a post explaining what happened. Comments are open if you want to leave condolences.
ReplyDeleteBuck, thank you so and also thanks to all those who offered such kindness here, whether they knew us or not. It has helped immensely, dear friend, you are a genuinely good soul.
