Your Local On the Eights...

Well, that sure was a bust, and a classic example of “weatherman-hyperbole.” Why do they DO that, Gentle Reader? Our “2 to 4 inches by daybreak...” never happened. It wasn’t even close. What we did get was interesting, though. One doesn’t often see thunderstorms in February, but that’s exactly what we got last evening. Nothing serious, as in “severe” (I love that particular euphemism), just your ordinary, run of the mill God’s Own Light Show, with Thor providing the crashing soundtrack. Entertaining.
So…that’s the current radar WX map, above. You’ll note there’s no precip within 100 miles of El Casa Móvil De Pennington. Not altogether a bad thing, especially the absence of precip of the frozen variety. Ah…but rain? We could always use more rain. Speaking of which...
One of my faves, that is…

  1. No one is stopping the rain around here today. It is coming down in buckets with a nice sound and light show to go with it.

We had such fun rockin' out to Fogerty on Thursday night with Jesse and GBN1. Jesse kept saying, "I didn't know he sang that..." She said that she listened to Fogerty all day Friday at work on Pandora.

  2. Our last few "predicted" big storms have been a bust as well....and I'm not complaining either.....we, however, do not need the rain.

  3. We are supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow. They have been wrong SO MANY TIMES this winter that it is to laugh. I'll believe it when I see it in progess.

  4. Who'll Stop the Rain is one of the few songs I would ever attempt at a karaoke bar...that's probably the reason I don't go to them!

Also, the drummer was the drummer for Bob Seger that last time I saw him in concert...the drummer, with his black gloves, and Alto Ray stole the show!

We didn't get another drop of rain yesterday... I was disappointed. And Fogerty IS good, ain't he? I bought every single CCR album within days of its release, back in the day. And he's still a fave.

Pat: Your "we don't need the rain" is quite the understatement from the looks of the pics you posted...

    Sharon: Me, too... Me, too!!

Mushy: I've done karaoke in public before, but I was always (a) in a strange town and (b) WAY beyond giving a large rodent's hindquarters what anyone thought... ;-)

  6. Buck, I'll never get caught up on all I've missed with the damned flu, but it's good to be workin' my way back. Loved the CCR. Thanks. ;-)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
