Zombie Time!

The inimitable and irreplaceable Zombie documents last week's Code Pink protest in Berkeley in a two-part post that begins here. Zombie posted nearly a hundred photographs, although I didn't actually count 'em. But there are a LOT, and they are fascinating.

Photos such as this:
Not everyone's cuppa. I was mesmerized, albeit not in a good way, to say the least. There are also more than a few good pics of the counter-demonstrators, of which there appeared to be many. Good on 'em. All is NOT lost...

  1. I am continually amazed at how some people can just ignore reality like that.

  2. Berkley is like a can of peanuts, keeps all the nuts gathered up in one place.

  3. What really disturbed me (I saw this yesterday) was seeing those high school and MIDDLE school kids who were encouraged to go to this thing and act up "for peace."

  4. Interesting. I looked and read through the Zombie link. I have so many thoughts running through my head that I am just speechless.

  5. Thanks, all y'all. Amazing, ain't it?

Bec (I assume anon is you)... the thing about the school kids struck me the hardest, as well.

  6. talk about going to hell in a handbasket! And said basket carried by the ladies, check that, women in pink. I realize that those kids are just in Berkely, and that there is a large contingent of silent majority kids (at least that is my hope) who are conservatively raised across the nation, but it is disheartening to see what a cross section of youth that can be induced by the mob mentality for such...evil. The seductive nature of the "Peace Beast" at its most grotesque. I am appalled to the point of nausea. Speaking of "good on'em" how bout the restraint of those cops? I would've loved to start crackin' some pink and orange heads, i can get a job elsewhere...they raised the bar for restraint on idiocy.

  7. Bec here,

(Oops, yes. That anon was me, Buck.)

I remember my dad's story about giving a hitchhiking college student a lift in Wyoming - back in the sixties. My dad asked him what they were teaching in college and was aghast at what the kid told him.

He was right to be worried way back then. In fact, I remember his mantra of concern all through my high school and college years, "Don't believe everything you read, Bec." I guess it finally stuck.

NO kidding. The "patience of saints," and all that. They're better people than I, that's fer sure. But then again, they have a lot more experience with the 'bats than we do, eh?

Bec: Your Dad was oh-so-right!! Mine told me much the same thing, as well. But I didn't learn the lesson... really learn it... until quite late in life, unfortunately.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
