More Good Stuff In Today's Mail

To wit:

Yays!  More mood altering substances for Ol' Farts (which are sorely needed at this point in time) plus additional inventory storage space!  The humidor is pretty spiffy looking, but it would be much better if it were glass and not plastic.  But, Hey!  We're not complainin'.   Too much.

So, it's decision time... which of these beauties should I fire up?
2 x Graycliff Crystal Edicion Limitada Presidente (7.2"x50)
2 x Rocky Patel Decade Toro (6.5"x52)
2 x Oliva Master Blends III Torpedo (6"x52)
2 x Gurkha Centurian Double X (6"x60)
2 x Man O' War Virtue Toro (6"x50)
I'm thinkin' it's gonna be a Gurkha.  Those puppies are good lookin' cee-gars.

  1. Oh, yeah!

Don't worry about the humidor being plastic -- Pepper often uses a ziplock bag with a piece of damp paper towel in it as a travel/golf course humidor.

  2. I do the same trick, Moogie... whenever I have "overflow" and for traveling, too.

  3. Enjoy. Those Gurkhas do look tempting, even to a non smoker like me. Back in the day, I used to sometime smoke a couple of cheap cigar brands: those little Havatampa Jewels with the wooden tips, and Swisher sweets (I think they were crooked if I remember right). The Jewels were my favorites, mellow tasting, not too strong.

  4. Sometimes, just sometimes, these posts give me a strong urge to get some stogies. However, smoking outside in the cold and rain probably ain't the experience I'm looking for.

I'll settle for some Winter Hook.

  5. Interesting names. I'd go with no. three - Oliva.

  6. BR said it. I'd love to try one however the cold weather we have now coupled with asthma - not a pretty combo for me.

The Oracle expresses interest from time to time. Maybe a small introductory purchase for Christmas might be in order; possibly to go with the Glenlivet I plan to give him.

  7. Dan: I smoked more than a few Havatampas and Swishers in the way-back. I look at those things today and wonder "how could I?" Those things are to cigars what Yugos and Trabants are to cars.

However, smoking outside in the cold and rain probably ain't the experience I'm looking for.

Prolly not, BR. But smoking my cigars indoors in the winter is yet another benny of the solitary life. ;-)

Lou: The names the cigar manufacturers come up with are most amazing and creative. I think so, anyhoo.

Kris: Cigar.com has a lot of Christmas specials on right now, including LOTS of samplers. What you see in the pic to this post was one such: ten premium cigars and a cigar jar at a very reasonable price. If you DO decide to get him a sampler, don't forget to buy a cutter, too.

  8. But don't let the Oracle try to take the cutter with him on a domestic airline flight -- trust me on this one.

  9. Yet another reason I won't fly... as if I needed one. Yeah, I suppose terrerists could threaten to cut off your fingers... one at a time... if you didn't surrender the frickin' plane. Right. Freakin' ASSHATS.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
