Your Perspective Changes

My Buddy Ed In Florida sends along one of those typical "grandparent" e-mails chock full o' cuteness, such as this:
13. A 6-year-old was asked where his grandma lived. "Oh," he said, "she lives at the airport, and when we want her, we just go get her. Then, when we're done having her visit, we take her back to the airport."
My reply?  "My favorite granddaughter quote of late (just this past July, as a matter of fact)... 'Hey Grandpapa... ready for another beer?"'

They're all grown up now, with kids of their own.  These two, anyway.

But not ALL of 'em.  There are more, too.  This is just the SN2 side o' the house.

  1. Such beautiful kids! You have been blessed in the parent AND grandparent department.

And, it sounds like your granddaughter was trained by my in-laws. Our kids regularly used the "ready for another beer" question!

  2. One of the family legends is how I trained my oldest granddaughter in the way-back (around the time of that pic with her and the puppies) to go to the fridge and fetch me a beer when TSMP, DIL#1, and I were porch-sitting in Dee-troit. So, yeah... she learned at an early age the importance of keeping the 'rents, grand and otherwise... provisioned. ;-)

And thanks for kind words about the kids. They ARE my pride and joy.

  3. I think it is a good think to teach your kids to be polite and make sure company is comfortable. Your GGs are beautiful.

  5. I showed this post to Pam (well, I told her about it). She had three words:

    Now, that's funny!

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
