Saturday: Can We Get Some More Ice Over Here, Please?

Continuing on with a theme...

God, but I miss that guy.  And his lovely wife... especially his lovely wife.

Occasional Reader Darryl brought this to our attention yesterday (and so did Digg):

Ya gotta admit:  Stewart gets BIG bonus points for style and good sense; minus points for tearing off both the check AND the duplicate plus suspiciously bad-looking whiskey (that looks like a bottle of Chivas, I know he can afford better).

  1. Yeah,. I miss him also. For all his faults, he's universes ahead of the current occupier.

  2. Wow, I remember checks! I used to use them until about 20 years ago...

  3. Bush defines the class. He may well be our last president of meaningful accomplishment (he was a fighter pilot who put it all on the line).

I'll cut the other man some slack. He was in a hotel. It's not his place to go overboard there.

  4. @ Rummy: me too.

@ juvat: And so is Ms. Laura as FLOTUS.

@ paper: I still write about three or four checks a month. They're not completely dead.

@ Curt: I agree about Bush; the F-102 wasn't an easy plane to fly from what I've read.

    1. I worked with a guy who flew them in the 60's. He was stationed in Libya. He said when he got out of flight school he didn't really know how to fly formation. I guess that was a common problem back then, because his first commander would take them out into the Med every day, and they would do formations with the whole squadron until they could do it in their sleep.
