We haz one. I sent this off to the Mediscare folks today...
So, here's me, blissfully cruising along through life with my spiffy lil portable oxygen generator until two weeks ago when that referenced "Summary Notice" from Mediscare showed up in my snail-mail box. I have more than a few issues here, first and foremost being the non-payment for my O2 machine; the second being the fact I wasn't informed of the non-payment issue when it first began, with the bureaucrats waiting over six months to inform me via a "summary notice;" and the third being the date of the summary notice versus the date I actually RECEIVED the damned thing. I'm not exactly a Happy Camper at the moment.
Oh, well. We took the shot across our bow and replied in kind. I had to go see my doctor last week to obtain copies of all the communications in this CF and the strange thing? She was NOT surprised, in the least, and was slightly amused that I was. I have to give props to American HomePatient for leaving my machine alone in the face of non-payment. One wonders how long that will last.
It's always sumthin'.

Government assholes. Pardon my French.
ReplyDeleteConcur. You're pardoned. :-)
DeleteThe want you to have a stroke so they're attempting to raise you blood pressure via the CF.
ReplyDeleteI am will to bet the entire communication from their end is machine generated and that no humans in the gov''t. are even aware yet.
What a bunch of maroons.
You're prolly right about the machine generated bits, Skip.
DeleteThe only thing worse than machine generated letters is machine generated phone calls.
DeleteI speak from experience.
I just read your Monday update. Wow. Your patience is amazing.
DeleteSmall dogs are lucky they aren't around (HSWHTPFIHC)
DeleteYep, they do sound like a pack of oxygen thieves.
ReplyDeleteGive them hell.
I see what ya did there!
DeleteThis happens regularly with my daddy's oxygen. When Pepper started Medicare in December, he received at least three letters containing contradictory information. This leads me to think that Skip has nailed it. And, yes, give 'em hell!
ReplyDeleteIt's not good news to hear that your father goes through this, too. Medicare has been good to me so far, this bein' the only hassle I've had in four years.
DeleteNow just calm down and take a deep breath - oh, never mind - hope it is soon resolved in your favor
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne.
DeleteThe nice thing about America, is that even spending 1 Trillion more than the budget, they can still find time to f-ck with old people.
ReplyDeleteThey'll F**k with anyone, not just old people.
DeleteWorse ...they teaching it to the private sector
DeleteBoth of y'all are more correct than you should be.
DeleteDon't be afraid Buck - they are from the government and they are here to help you. /sarc
ReplyDeleteAssholes. (and I won't request pardon for my language as it's mild compared to what I'm really thinking...)
