From last year...
At which time we said this about that: "Misery Bear and I seem to share a certain gestalt concerning this day. Sorta." And this year? Well, it's a case o' "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose."
And this, from a couple o' years ago...Thursday, February 14, 2013
Heh
Happy Valentine's Day, if'n yer in to that sorta thang. In other words... may the drone of love send a Hellfire straight to yer heart.

Happy VD! Cupid with a drone. Pretty good.

DeleteRemember those Warner-Brothers hi-end "movie art" stores that sold "collectable grade" art-work. ? In 2000 I found a dynamite large heart-shaped "one of" hand-made red ceramic vase with Pepe le-Pew in embrace of the poor struggling, protesting cat in the King of Prussia Mall outside Philly. BEST Valentine I ever gave. (Perfectly depicts our relationship, lol) (At the same time I also bought a framed collage of Marvin the Martian riding his motor-cycle with the dog on the bumper seat chasing one of the Martians for our son's room--a moto guy like you would have loved it. Good thing I did, those stores have closed now) Next best was a fairly large, (but not giant) stuffed red "Little Devil" Bear complete with horns and black cape that I picked up at Ralph's grocery in the Waterside shopping center, Marina del Rey in 2009. (It was 8pm and I was desperate and it was the only one left. Thank God, as the wife loved it) That was followed by a much smaller "little red-devil" holding/offering a pink heart with out-stretched arms purchased at Wal-Mart in Baton Rouge in 2013. I've given more expensive jewelry, flowers or candy over the years, but those three "inspirations" seemed most on target--my wife loving all three. This year?
ReplyDeleteMore jewelry, but what she wanted, lol. (Mostly fun stuff for Mardis Gras parties)
VERY cool stuff, Virgil. I was never that creative... and I set expectations accordingly.
DeletePS: Forgot to note that the vase itself was heart-shaped and open at the top for flowers.
ReplyDeleteI was so sure the little misery bear was going to be run over by a truck in mid-flower storm. But no. That would be too easy. He wouldn't suffer enough.
ReplyDeleteI liked the drone cupid.
I like Misery Bear, a lot. There's more of his stuff on the Tube o' You.
