I'm not immune to the charms of a good pop tune* and this is one such:
*Full disclosure: I heard this tune on the Van Morrison station at meTunes Radio this afternoon. Which makes me wonder... just what in the HELL does Abba and Van Morrison have in common? Something? Anything? Nothing that **I** can see, but you know how that works... taste is all in our mouths.
No more carefree laughterPart and parcel of that conversation...
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time we're through
She: But can't we still be friends?I dunno just how many times I've heard that "let's just be friends" thing but I can tell you it's NEVER worked out for me. Ever. I've heard of "relationships gone bad" where the parties remained friends but that sorta thing just ain't in my playbook. I suppose I'm just a vindictive SOB.
He: Ummm... no. No, we can't.

'in common?' elevator music.
ReplyDeleteka ching.
-10, Curtis. ;-)
DeleteWhat sort of elevators do you frequent? I've never heard Van Morrison in one -- nor would I characterize his music in that way.
ReplyDeleteDespite a dislike of most music described as "pop", I admit that you will find ABBA Gold in my collection. I do draw the line at "Dancing Queen". Some standards must be upheld
You beat me to the elevator, J.R.... and I share your dislike of most pop. That said, I don't have any Abba in my collection and I'll not switch stations if they come on... except for DQ, of course.
DeleteY'all don't like DQ? :) Philistines..
