Life Is Still Interesting

I intimated life could get a lot more "interesting" exactly a month ago today.  Well, things haven't changed one way or the other in a month's time: my back still hurts but the pain is neither lessening nor worsening, it's just there, all the damned time.  I suppose I should be grateful for the fact it's not getting worse, but this crap is beginning to wear me down... or it's making it hard for me to roll out of bed every morning, at the very least.  The only person or persons benefiting from this shi'ite are the kind folks at Bayer AG, whose "Bayer Back and Body" formulation is wonderful stuff.

Yeah, I know: bitch, bitch, bitch.  Alternately: It's always sumthin'.

  1. Ya didn't say anything about the last Wings game?
I thought it was a pretty fair defensive battle and it was too bad it had to end that way.

    1. As long as the OTC anti-inflammatory pills work...
      Well, good luck.

    2. As for the game... yeah, both goalies got shut-outs. That was about as good a 0-0 game as I've ever seen, but I do NOT like the shoot-out gimmick. If it's still tied after OT, then both teams should get a single point and we're done.

Thanks for the good wishes, Skip.

    1. No fun, indeed. But like I said: it makes life "interesting."

  3. First, thanks for sporting the Thanksgiving Pledge logo. It looks tres spiffy here.

I'm with you on shoot-outs. There's nothing in the world wrong with a hard-fought tie during the regular season.

As for your back... I'm usually pretty good at recommending various medications, ointments, salves, voodoo, but back pain is one thing I have been blessed about. Very little of that, ever. I'll offer up a prayer on your behalf (which may be the best I could do even if I knew of good meds, when one approaches things from a theological perspective.)

  4. I hope your back does get better. We are big fans of ibu profen. I agree on the OT tie rule. Go to sudden death and the first to score wins the game.

    1. I'm usually a big Aleve fan but decided to give the Bayer product a try... and we've found it really does work best on this sort o' pain. Thanks, Curtis.

  5. Dang! Hang in there Buck, I'll keep you in message traffic to Sky Six!

(Shoot outs suck. In hockey and in soccer. They suck, they suck, they suck. Either let it end in a tie or play overtime if it's in the play-offs.)

    1. Agreed on all counts, but I'll take yer word for it where soccer is concerned as I haven't ever watched a soccer game that involved kids over the age of 12. So there's that. Thanks for the kind words and thoughts: we need all we can get.

  6. I missed all but the last few minutes of the 3rd and the OT
The Sharks seemed masterful during that last power play by the Wings

  7. Buck, Hang in there with the back. A month with that kind of pain can wring you out. As for the hockey, things could be worse...you could be a Preds fan :-).

    1. Thanks, Dan. Being a Wings fan isn't so much fun sometimes, either. They got blown out last night, big-time, at The Joe. I turned it off in the third period when the score was 5-1 in Ottawa's favor... I have NO ideer what the final score was. They were really bad last evening.

  8. Oh Buck - there is nothing more debilitating that chronic pain; I know whereof I speak and I am sorry you are in that space. Self-medicate...Bayer and Beer.
