Almost Mohammed Redux

Moon:  I have you at my five o'clock... you need to close and come around hard left.
Evening Star:  Not in this millennium, Bud.  What ya see is what ya get.
Ah, well.  Close enough for gub'mint work, eh?

Tonight's pic was taken with the mePhone, last night's was taken with the Big Camera.  I'm kinda sorta amazed at how well the mePhone camera does things.

  1. I wish I could have taken a photo of our moon last night about 10 PM. It was the sliver that you posted, but large with clouds feathering over it. Kind of spooky.

    1. We've been pretty clear here of late, but I know the kind of moon you mean.

  2. Wow! The clarity is exceptional - especially in the darkness of night - I could almost be persuaded to give up my rotary dial cell phone for a new fangled phone like yours. :)

  3. I'll have to remember to make sure to have my camera in hand tonight when I'm out and about.
Maybe I'll even remember to take a shot with the fonecam, too so we can all compare.
Maybe I will even read the instructions for the camera.

Golly, that's a bunch of maybe.

  4. I was all set to take a picture myself when I felt this tapping on my shoulder. It was a guy from NASA and he told me that the heavens were shut down during the current budget impasse and it was against the law to take pictures. He not only ruined that shot, he kept jumping up and down and getting his big ears in all the other pictures of the moon I took. :)

I like having a little camera on me at all times. That's pretty cool.

    1. The long arm of the feds usually doesn't reach this far into fly-over country, so I think I was pretty safe. You're right: there's hardly any excuse for missing a potential shot these days. I like that, too.

  5. Really nice photo. You've inspired me. We have had an iPhone 4s for about 3 months, and it's time we started really using our camera. I may post some of our efforts too.
