Project Update

Back in July I posted about starting a new project, to wit: "We've embarked on growing a "regimental" mustache, otherwise known as a "handlebar" (or we're tryin' to do so, at least)."  This was our starting point:

This is where we are now:

This is what we aspire to:

Col. Robin Olds

And then this took ALL the wind out o' our sails:

Sigh.  It's dispirited, we are.

There are more world-class beards and mustaches here.  (H/T to Anne, at Gunsmoke and Knitting.)

  1. Why is it everything seems to be turned into a competition?
    ...and some kind of chore?

    Sheesh!!!

    1. Well, as far as competition goes... boys will be boys. I'd never let anything like my mustache become a chore, personally. Not like most of those guys at the link, anyhoo.

  2. I think your endeavors are coming along quite well.

That last guy, well, he could poke someone's eye out with that! Imagine how many hours you have to work with wax and so forth to get that facial hair to do that. I guess we know why HE is wearing those safety glasses. lol.

I think yours looks a lot better, and a lot like what you are aspiring to... though it's a bit lighter in color. ;)

    1. Thanks, Jim. Yeah, a lot of the beards and such at the link would be waaay too much work.

  3. We were sitting in the backyard when our neighbor joined us. He's trying to grow a goatee. Finally he asked my husband what he thought of his beard so far. My husband said "Yea, my wife has one of those too, only it don't talk!" Bada-Bump !

  4. Yours is coming along quite nicely. Avoid the red suits and weird sunglasses and you should be fine.

    1. I can't imagine me in a red suit unless it was around Christmas time.

  5. I agree with Bag about your mustache, it's looking good. I've never really liked the look of the waxed ones; the only one of those I've seen that makes sense is actor David Suchet's in his Poirot guise.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
