Pink Floyd, with advice to geezers who MIGHT be feelin' their age today:
In other news... I mentioned last evening the heat and humidity had returned to this neck o' the woods. That remains true today:
The humidity hereabouts is in the mid-80s but life on the verandah is quite bearable, given that SN1 has a couple o' ceiling fans on the porch, which I set to "tornado" speed before launching Happy Hour. It's all good, Gentle Reader.
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.Well, OK. I shall. I said (the post below) that I was feelin' rather old today but that was just a fleeting moment in time coz we're much better as we type. That said, the "advice" above is well-taken.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you see'er of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

We have been having a nasty bit of heat/humidity up here in New England as well; it is MOST unwelcomed and it can leave anytime now.
ReplyDeleteI'm further north today and the heat/humidity isn't nearly as oppressive as yesterday. Thank The Deity At Hand for small favors.
DeleteWhere I'm at, it's a dry heat.
ReplyDeleteBut it's still pretty friggen hot.
The Central Valley gets HOT. Go ahead, ask me how I know.
DeleteIt has been in the triple digits here. Yesterday I went on a field trip with the GGs to the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur, OK. It was too stinkin' hot to be comfortable outside. The kids all looked like melted puddles of butter.
ReplyDeleteI need to take a moment out of my busy day to thank The Deity At Hand it's NOT in the triple digits here. My 'puter still thinks it's in Portales and I notice the temps there have been rather moderate, as well. You have my sympathy, Lou.
