Our Latest Project

We've embarked on growing a "regimental" mustache, otherwise known as a "handlebar" (or we're tryin' to do so, at least).  We've done this once in our past lives and it came out lookin' sumthin' like this:

That's back in 1999 and that attempt wasn't all that bad, if I may be so bold as to say so, but we never took the project to any sort o' conclusion beyond what you see above.

Here's where we stand today...

Current progress could be described as an embryonic Skip-stache, if that (I got that link from here... in his sidebar).  These things take time and the next step is to find that tube o' mustache wax we know we still have... somewhere.  We shall keep ya posted on our progress.  I'll bet you're REALLY excited.

  1. I really don't care much for wax.
But I found peanut butter will do in a pinch.

    1. Heh. Doubtless there are other preparations that'll do in a pinch, too. ;-)

    2. Indeed...
I grew it out to a handlebar once before.
It was eliminated when the beard went away in '06.
Maybe I can do a post about the hairs on my face?

    3. In re: the post. I'd file that away for a day when all else fails... coz you KNOW they happen, those days.

  2. I would grow a Robin Olds 'stache, but the Missus Herself would not approve. And she does make the rules around here. She keeps them in a jar. Why do you ask?

    1. Ah, I'm familiar with "The Rules." I constantly ran afoul of those back in Former Happy Days.

  3. Why not go for the full set while you're about it? Think of the time you would save not having to shave at all.

    1. I do a beard in winter, Brian. But I still have to shave my neck, yanno?

  4. Everybody has to have a project, right? This will likely be less difficult than most. I say go for it!

    1. It's beginning to irritate me now, as it's in that "in between" stage.

  5. Hmmm - given that The Oracle has a full face of hair and MY rule is he doesn't ever shave it ... I'm all in favor of the experiment.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
