Understanding Your Audience

So I get this e-mail from Twitter... note the subject line:

Yeah, those are similar.  Just like I'm similar to the Pope.

  1. All due respect, that makes perfect sense to me.

A lot of people who are interested in politics, economics or business in America are going to be following the first four at least: Wall St Journal, New York Times, the White House and Politico... regardless of who is in the White House at any given moment, by the way.

The business newspaper of record, with a conservative editorial policy; the general newspaper of record, with an East Coast Elite liberal editorial slant; the President's Twitter feed, and commentary from what's generally recognized as one of the smarter dotcoms covering politics. Yeah, in a way, those things *are* like each other.

    1. Point taken, Barry. I MIGHT subscribe to the White House feed in about four years.

  2. Well, lessee. . . You and the pope are both human persons made in the image and likeness of God, for starters. . . White (and white-haired) males over 65. . . And I do believe His Holiness has some small military background, as well. . . And, well, there's the whole Notre Dame thing, much as it pains me to mention it. . .

So, you see, you're more like the Pope than maybe you thought. . .

    ;)

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
