Basic humanity..
ReplyDeleteAnd music IS both timeless AND international, isn't it?
The thing about "basic humanity" is a lot like "common courtesy," in that neither seem to be much in evidence these days. Which is why I SO liked this.
DeleteWhat VX said. Great song.
ReplyDeleteTrue, dat.
DeleteBeing among the recently unemployed, I can testify as to the wonderful effect wrought by folks who try to bring a smile to the day. Bless them!
ReplyDeleteI thought about you while watching this... really, I did.
DeleteAlthough I love this, maybe I missed something. Was she singing in English in a Spanish unemployment office?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Spain...a lady in my exercise class just got back from spending Christmas in Spain with her son and his family. She said she had lost weight, because she did not eat "that food." Now, I really like this lady, but I couldn't help think, "Stupid Okie."
Was she singing in English in a Spanish unemployment office?
DeleteYup, she was. The Beatles are pretty much universal, which means even your average Spaniard would recognize the tune and its sentiment. As for your Okie friend... I'm with you. You have NO ideer how many times I encountered that mindset during my AF career... and my response was always "Your loss."
Great video. Love that song.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Dan... me too.
