Crack

I told a lie, as it turns out, way back at Halloween when I said the following:
What does a quarter buy these days, anyhoo? I don't eat candy, never buy it (except in bags for trick-or-treaters, in previous years), so I don't really KNOW.
And then last month I went out and bought ONE bag of these damnable things:

The next day I went out and bought another three bags.  And then three more.  And then... well, you can guess the rest.  I'm hooked.  Addicted.  These things might be worse than crack except for the fact they're legal.  I've been known to eat a whole bag at a single sitting and no less than half a bag on any given day.  I'm absolutely certain there's gonna come a time when I'll introduce myself to a group of fat people with the following statement:
Hi.  My name is Buck and I'm an addict.
I've heard the first step towards a cure is admitting you have a problem.  Well... I definitely have a PROBLEM.

Damn you, Reese, and your infernal PIECES.

  1. Oh, I hear ya. . . Anything that falls under the rubric of 'peanut-butter-cup' is like crack for me, too. . .

The other day, I was in the gas-station-cum-convenience-store, and they had a pack of two PB-cups that weighed in at ONE POUND! - two half-pound peanut-butter-cups, each about 6 inches in diameter. I had to run outta there. . .

    2. My wife brought home TWO of those huge PB cup things. They were gone in a day and a half. Deadly I tell ya. Deadly.

  2. I'm in the same boat as you and Craig. Peanut butter cups are completely irresistible. I can eat five of the regular-sized packages of them, no sweat. The problem is you can kid yourself into thinking you're getting some nutrition because it's peanut butter, except the peanut butter they use in these things is jammed full of sugar.

    Yes, yummy. I empathize.

  3. PB+C is the greatest synthesis in the entire history of the universe. Although B+LT is a close second.

  4. I am hooked, too. Worse, Costco has these huge bags of the minis as a house brand.
Thank goodness I only go there about one every three weeks.
O'course there are other things I have a hard time avoiding, too. All but one have chocolate and too much sugar. I am so glad it is too late to die young.

  5. Really Buck? You had to show me these? I've already gained about twenty pounds since I quit smoking, and now I see these?

Time to haul that exercise bike out of storage I guess.

    1. I can resist temptation... to a point, and then ALL is lost.

  7. I'm hooked on some chocolate-mocha similar cups--no peanut butter, tho. It's an off-brand that the Dollar Tree carries in La and 99-cent stores in La carry. Have 'em with my morning coffee w. hazle-nut or amararetto cream (which I also get at those dollar stores--both chains share many of same vendors, except 99 cent in La carries fresh fruit & veg. The one on Lincoln in Venice sits right next to a Whole Foods--somehow I prefer the powdered stuff to the liquid cream--doesn't cool down the coffee like the liquid and seems to have a more distinctive taste.)

    1. I always put my coffee in the nuker for 20 seconds after I cream it. I can't handle those flavored creamers, though. A lil cocoa in my coffee and I'm set.

  8. Sorry.

Now, (in the words of Iowahawk) "pay up sucka," before I put them back in those interminable foil wrappers.

    1. Heh. I buy these minis BECAUSE I don't have to unwrap 'em. That's a GOOD ideer ya had there.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
