Goofy, Indeed

Mr. Varvel has it right.  There's been a lotta loose talk about secession of late which, in my mind's eye, only reinforces the right-wing nutter stereotype.  All this secession talk is the Right's version of "I'm moving to Canada if Booosh wins," writ large.

We're better than that.

  1. I would go in to a long comment about how secession is not necessary if States would just...

Oh well...I won't go there, because you and your readers already know...

  2. Canada! Well that is just silly, but I might move to Texas. If I was born there, does that make me a natural citizen?

    1. In re: citizen. Yup! And I'm kinda sad and sorry I gave up my Texas citizenship.

  3. Buck, I signed the Louisiana petition for the same reason my USAF 3-star 1st cousin, having never voted in his life as a serving officer out of the belief in the non-partisan nature of military service, voted for George Wallace in 1968 out of frustrated protest--'cause he was pissed! Same for me this time--just to embarrass the bastard and force him to go on record in response even if it's a studied brush-off. (And, since one has to regisater at the WH web-site to sign the petition, you can well imagine i'm re-oiling all my guns, lol)

    1. That's as good a reason to sign as any... but I'd NEVER give those asshats my name and e-mail addy. Not that they prolly don't have it, anyway.
