If a lifetime can be likened to a day, then this is Happy Hour!
Keeping my fingers crossed that this is a valid prediction. And not one of those "Dewey Defeats Truman" moments. The upcoming election has me nervous as hell, truth be told.
I'm uneasy, too... mainly coz there are a LOT of idiots out there. And some of 'em vote.
Yeah, every time I pass by those dive bars in strip malls by the side of the road at 10am that in broad daylight all closed up, and no lights on, are almost impossible to recognize for what they are, I think to myself that most of the cretins in there one sees at 0200 are elgible to vote and I shudder. Only consolation is that most are probably always too zoned out to vote--or have even bothered to register. The ones you have to REALLY worry about are the Univ faculty and the unmarried professional wimmins--we're talkin' 90%+ lock for lefty candidates. Throw in 95% blacks plus the rising hispanic vote and the future doesn't look good. I think it was Pat Buchannan who recently predicted if trends continue even if Romney does manage to win it may be the last Republican President elected in our lifetime. What a pleasant prospect! MOAR (h/t JTG) Barbancourt, barkeep!!
Well, THAT was a comforting screed, Virgil.
Glad to please--I'm a giver, not a taker, Buck.:)
Just be polite... that's all I ask.
