Heh

Ain't THAT the truth?

―:☺:―

In other news... I have to run off to The Big(ger) City™ this morning, coz my phone has looked like this since 2130 hrs last evening:

Terrible glare from the flash, I know, but the phone hung during a "routine" software update and is dead for all intents and purposes.  I hope the Sprint store can fix it, but I'll give ya a dollar to a donut that I'll lose ALL my contacts, saved messages, photos, yadda, yadda in the process... IF they can fix it on-prem and not mail it off to Taiwan or someplace like it.  Sometimes I HATE technology.

Update, noonish:  Back... with a working phone, minus ALL my contacts, apps, yadda, yadda.  So now I'll have to send e-mail to everyone I normally speak to and ask 'em to call me so I can kinda-sorta rebuild my contact list.  (sigh)  It's ALWAYS sumthin'.

  2. YOU of ALL people should know better than to be w.o. hard-copy paper back-ups, Buck
(well, nothing you can do about the aps) Shame on you, you damn old codger--making us fossils look bad! Do we have to threaten to drum you out of the union? I mean, it's NOT like you lead such a harried existence that you don't have the time to do the back-up. Hell, TIME is ALL geezer retirees like you and me have on their hands, lol

    1. What? You want me to spend hours and hours and hours transcribing data from PAPER to my phone? It's easier to just e-mail folks and say "call me." Then... "add contact." Walla! Done. Necessity ain't the Mom of Invention... laziness IS.

    1. This is the classic case of technology making us more stupid. Back in the day (before cell phones) I had ALL my frequent caller numbers memorized. Today? Not a one... they're all in my phone. Or, they WERE.

I think cell phones are all a communist plot to destroy western civilization.

    1. They might be a plot, but I think they're a capitalist plot, if anything.

  6. Kris beat me to it. You know...I think you can also back up your contacts to your Sprint online account, too.

  7. My phone refuses to update as well. However, its a Samsung/Google phone and all my contacts and aps automatically back up to my gmail account. A pretty cool feature I think.
