I reread Mein Kampf again in English. While no one can deny the guy was a whacko, he did have lucid moments.
Germany got screwed by WW#1. France and England were as much a part of the start of the war. But the Armistice crippled Germany economically. Mein Kampf was written after France invaded Germany in 1923 (Wikipedia has it as "Occupation of the Ruhr" which France did because Germany wasn't paying like they said they would, and France decided to just take the coal.
Anyway, World War #2 was the direct result of Germany deciding that no country surrounding its borders could ever threaten them again. It looked like conquest, but it was really just meant to defeat them militarily, so they could never invade the fatherland again.
Germany got smart. Now they own all the Euros and let NATO worry about the defense expenses.
When the chips are down, choose Germany. Every other country in Europe is on welfare.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... Not saying there were weren't motives or justifications such as you describe, but the whole Nazi concept of Lebensraum was given a lot of propaganda play in the Home Market, no?
Still and even, today the Germans are industrious and sensible people. Point taken.
Well...France did beat the shit out of the Germans. Nyuk...
ReplyDeleteTo the loser goes the light bill!

DeleteWith a lil help from their friends, the last time out. The French suck, historically. Except for that Short Lil Guy, back in the 1700s.

Yes, very. 75% tax on the people who do the most production and innovation? Genius!
ReplyDeleteD'Oh!
Yup. That's what Barry wants, too.
DeleteI wonder if the Prez will leave Hollande cooling his heels in the White House like he did to ol' Bibi?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. The new president(e) of La France is cut form the same cloth as The One... Bibi less so.
