Two Shades o' Normal

I like the way Mr. Kelley thinks.  From The Usual Source, of course.

In other news... We're 180 out from where we were yesterday.  I'm amazed at how unstable and erratic my sleeping habits are, i.e., yesterday we went to bed around 0430 hrs in the morning and slept until well after noon.  Today we're up at 0430, which is when we went to bed 24 hours ago.  Well, we actually retired at 2200 hrs last evening and woke up at 0300 this morning (it's 0430 and two cups later as I type).  It's the strangest thang... my eyes popped open at 0300 and I simply could NOT get back to sleep.  So we gave it up and got up at 0330.

Is this normal?  I think not.  But... it is what it is and normal is highly overrated.

  1. 0300? Time to kill time watching Bulgarian women's vollyball on ESPN. LOL.

  2. I can get up at 0430, but not go to bed at 0430. Normal Norman, what is normal?

  3. I feel yore pain about the erratic sleeping times. I flopped about 3 a.m. last night and didn't wake up till about 10 this morning. I wonder, could this be fairly common ( normal) with retired folk? Used to be, when I was a working man, if I was reading or doing something, I put it away at midnight cause I HAD to get up the next morning. Now, well, you know how it is. You stay with the reading or whatever knowing you can sleep in the next day.

  4. Virgil: Or Brazilian Butt Lift infomercials.

Lou: "Normal" damned shure ain't ME.

I wonder, could this be fairly common ( normal) with retired folk?

I think so, Dan. Not having to be anywhere the next day is a powerful incentive to just stay up all night, as you noted.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
