This is much more than a talk about tea... it's a primer on Turkey and the Turks. I spent three years in Turkey and pretty much enjoyed every minute. Granted, there were times during that three years that were less than exciting but I never failed to be enthralled by the country, its history, its beauty, and its friendly people. And yeah... I drank a LOT of çay. Raki, too... but that's another story (see the vid at the link).

"Kolbastı is a popular Turkish dance. It was originally created in the 1930s in the seaport of Trabzon [ever been to Trabzon, Buck?] on the Black Sea coast of north-eastern Turkey. Loosely translated, 'kolbastı' means 'caught red-handed by the police.' According to legend, the name comes from nightly police patrols of the city to round up drunks, who made up a song with the lyrics: 'They came, they caught us, they beat us' (in Turkish: 'Geldiler, bastılar, vurdular')."
