Update and Linkage

Yanno that Chomsky thing I posted this past weekend?  Well, Lex gives us this about that:

Noam Chomsky

 Chris Hitchens treats him roughly.

(It’s no use excerpting Hitchens; he’s like a seven course meal, and must be taken sequentially.)
What The Good Captain said.

I read another good piece by Hitch last night, which made me terribly sad.  The man is dying slowly and that is positively the WORST way to go.

  1. Especially liked the one by Hitch. Thanks, Buck. (Interesting that people send him CDs by Leonard Cohen. I love "If It Be Your Will" too.) Reading Hitchens is like going on an interesting journey and I always learn a lot. What a contrast to ol' Chomsky.

  2. The "Losing Your Voice" piece touched me in a lot of ways, Bec. Mr. Hitchens has long been an inspiration in a number of ways. His advice on writing was most excellent, and the rest of the piece was just.. too sad.

  3. Hitchens is really an enigma to me. He’ll write such great stuff, like this pieces, and also such drivel as “the Tea Party is a bunch of racists because…well, they just are”.

    Anyways, he’ll be missed.

  4. I don't agree with Hitch all the time either, tim, just most of the time. And yeah, he'll be SORELY missed.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
