Well, I'm Glad THAT'S Over and Done

Note that I'm gettin' a small refund this year... which is just about enough to keep me in cigars for a month.  I think the refund happened coz I can claim the "over 65" exemption now, which might be one of the few bennies of gettin' old.  Well that and bein' able to play the "get off my lawn!" card with a straight face.  And all the young girls callin' ya "sir."  Wait.  That's not as much a bennie as it is code for "not in YOUR lifetime, however short that might be."  (sigh)

  1. That's not as much a bennie as it is code for "not in YOUR lifetime, however short that might be." Any gal that would say that to you isn't worth the effort.

  3. I remember being barely 21 and gambling in Reno. These nasty old waitresses with too-short skirts and the raspy voices like Marge Simpson's sisters would come around every five minutes and ask "Would you like another drink, sir?"

By brain didn't process it very well.

  4. Hey man...been reading, but not commenting. Okay, I'm a miserable liar. I've been two or three whole days AWOL.

Good luck on the eye surgery. You're going to be so way glad that you did this. Trust me.

Did I mention that I'm a miserable liar???

  5. It is good to have your taxes done and a refund - I think you should celebrate - maybe go out to eat or sumpin fun.

  6. I hate doing taxes; thank goodness I finally married a former accounting teacher who loves doing our taxes.

Clever comments on your exemption. Thanks for making me laugh, coz I'm not getting any younger myself.

  7. Inno: Yeah, it is weird when old ladies call young guys "sir." Unless they're old female sergeants talkin' to young lieutenants.

Andy: You'd best change your ways, Young Man. That's what Mom always told ME, and look at the good THAT did...

Lou: I DID celebrate: I got a Monterrey Steak burrito at Taco Box AND chalupas.

Red: Thank ya, Ma'am... and I'm glad I could make ya smile!

  8. I followed suit this morning. Just might be the smartest tax move I ever made, and I owe all my wisdom to the Exile guy. Thank you.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
