Filler

I get the morning paper now... as of last Wednesday.

I don't know exactly why I waited so long to subscribe to the WSJ once I got my Kindle, but I did wait for quite a while.  Which is kinda weird, coz I subscribed to the print edition throughout my whole bid'niz life, only letting my subscription expire when I moved to P-Ville and only then because the WSJ doesn't deliver to the hinterlands.  I could have gotten it by mail, but who wants yesterday's news?  Going down to the library every so often to catch up worked for me in the past,  but no more.  Now all I have to do when I get up is turn the wireless on and the paper is ready to read after I finish making the coffee.

Yet another instance of We dog products Technology!

Today MIGHT be the day we break the seal on the AC...

It's already pretty warm, but it's bearable as long as we have our awning down.  We're keepin' a close eye on the WX, needless to say... as we're right on the cusp of having to furl the awning to keep it from blowing over to Lubbock.  The awning is good for winds up to about 20 mph and I'm hopin' we don't get much higher than that today, mainly coz full sun on the side of El Casa Móvil De Pennington coupled with temps in the 80s tends to make things semi-uncomfortable, AC or no AC.  And there's Happy Hour to consider, too.

  1. I was shoveling snow today. We have snow in Ontario. Global Warming has not made it here yet, despite all the money spent. I feel for you. Could you please accelerate your burning of tires, deforestation, and denial of voting rights to anti-Americans? Global Warming is not a go without you.

  2. I know most of the northern hemisphere is excited for it to be getting warmer, but I'm not. I really hate when it's hot, and although we have AC. I'd much rather put on a sweatshirt to get warm. Going to miss the nippy mornings.

I was watching snow fall only just yesterday here in New England!

  3. Can you plug the Kindle reader into your computer or direct to the monitor for a larger experience?

I bet being able to make the words big is going to be real handy for the next couple of weeks.

  4. Fenris: I feel yore pain, what with livin' in Dee-troit for ten years and Rochester, NY... just across the lake from you... for four years.

Matt: I'll take hot wx over cold ANY day.

Marc: The font size is variable on a Kindle, too. That said, there IS a Kindle app for the PC which I may take advantage of...

  5. I'm with Matt; I hate the warmer weather though after this winter in New England...I may change my mind at least for this year.

Love the WSJ on the Kindle Buck, good for you!

  6. I vote with Matt as well. Give me the cooler weather and nippy mornings any day! At least our heat here in Santa Fe is generaly dry and tolerable. I dread even our few 90º days in the summer.

  7. Oh, and I forgot... I read the WSJ online news every day. My thinking is that with all the free news online on the internet, cable, and radio, why would I pay for it?
