Perspective Is EVERYTHING

Halloween is over, Donkey-Breath.  And that ain't a costume... it's your reality.

That said, it feels like Christmas Eve to me.  I expect lots of shiny new fun things under the electoral tree and some sensible gifts as well.  A lot of incumbents are gonna get a big ol' nasty lump o' coal.  Hopefully.  Paint the country red!

  1. You are the 2nd person I've read this morning that likened today to Christmas.

I voted at 6:15am - election officials were saying that turnout was already bigger than they expected.

Sensible gifts - that's what we want. Nothing fancy, doesn't have to be cutting edge - just stuff that makes sense.

And a long unemployment line stretching out of the Capital Building...with everyone looking, um, blue.

  4. Buck, Kris:

Hey you two, NOT ANOTHER WORD ABOUT CHRISTMAS! THANKSGIVING COMES FIRST! COMMERCIALISM! MAKING MONEY IS EEEVIL! TOO EARLY!

  5. Kris: Our polls open much later here in NM, like 0900. But I vote absentee in Tejas, so it doesn't much matter. That said, I ALWAYS used to go early while living in Noo Yawk and Meeshegin... the lines were much shorter and everyone was friendly as all get out.

    Moogie: Yup! That's the plan!

Alison! Long time! I thought you took your blog private? What happened there?

Andy: Heh. Sorry about pushing your buttons. I just lost my head... it won't happen again. Promise. Heh.

  6. I was going to dump my blog after a trolling issue. In the end I stuffed it into a hold mode with password protect so the troll would bugger off, while I worked out what to do about blogging and got on with life. The trolling was decidedly personal - about the loss of our baby - a step too far where trolling is concerned. I'm so glad I didn't hit delete. I'm back up and blogging. Hope life is treating you and yours well! Best of luck in your Elections today.

I reckon you guys could use a Parliament btw - so politicians can slug it out properly instead of your talk show hosts!

  7. A: About your troll... That is just SICK, no two ways about it. I'm sorry there are such assholes in this world, especially when they try and take advantage of someone as lovely and caring as yourself. My condolences... and I'm GLAD you're back!

  8. My polling place was packed!! when I arrived around 4pm, which has never been the case in the 6 years I have voted at said locale. A true sign that my fellow citizenry is truly galvanized.

I do believe that this is the single biggest election I have been able to take part in (I was only 14 in 1980). It feels that we are on the verge of restoring our country to its rightful place off greatness.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
