Some FINE Dobro Playin'

So... I heard some Jerry Douglas on Pandora this mornin' while makin' the rounds and went off to the Tube of You in search of a tune called "Takarasaka."  Alas... the clip I found isn't embeddable and more's the pity.  But I'd encourage you to chase the link, coz the playin' is most excellent.  But this piece is ALMOST as good and might could be better, since it features Bela Fleck on banjo:

Good stuff, eh?

  1. "Good stuff," yessir! What a treat...Nashville Now with Ralph Emery. That was a welcome blast from the past, Buck.

Terrific!! Hard to beat either Jerry or Bela. Love it when Jerry takes a turn with Union Pacific. That fiddle player ain't no dog, either! Couldn't keep my feet still with this one.

Excuse me - gotta go to YouTube. :-)

  4. Andy: Glad ya liked it.

You, too, Katy. I'll listen to just about anything or anyone who knows their way around a dobro. My favorite instrument.

  5. Buck, This is indeed, some good stuff. But young Jerry's glasses. Man. They are large, makes him look a little like a BEM (bug eyed monster) in an old Sci Fi movie. But no matter. He can play the dobro like no one else. And Fleck is great too.
