The dry maelstrom that was our weather yesterday has moved to the east, south, or some other point on the compass, thank The Deity At Hand. Yesterday's weather was SO miserable we canceled Happy Hour altogether, foregoing the indoor version, even. Perhaps we were apprehensive about combining our moderate intake of alcohol with El Casa Móvil De Pennington's exaggerated to and fro rocking motion. Whatever the case, it was prolly good thinking on my part.
This morning we're experiencing relative calm... which is to say 12 mph winds, with gusts just below 20 mph. Our skies are bright blue today, without the dirty brown/tan hue that comes with all that damned airborne dust. We can live with that. We also have to do some major cleaning... once the caffeine has been processed... because dust never sleeps (with apologies to Neil).
We have another major task today. Our computer arrived back from The Computer Hospital yesterday afternoon, along with a letter from the Computer Doctor(s) informing us that the factory OS image had been successfully installed, the BIOS upgraded and the system had been "thoroughly tested with no issues." So why do I feel decidedly uneasy? Beside the point, I suppose.
That's a good picture of you, Buck! Looks like you trimmed the hair.
ReplyDeleteGood luck...
So you have traded one storm for another.
ReplyDeletePerhaps an abbreviated Happy Hour before you commence dealing with the 2nd storm???
I vote for Happy Evening.
ReplyDeleteBon chance!! I don't envy you any of the tasks you noted!
Andy: You're TOO kind.
ReplyDeleteKris & Moogie: We've opted for Happy Hour today (pent up demand) and have decided to defer resurrecting the computer until the morrow. Procrastination 'R' Us...
The wires to my computer are in no man's land. I hate to go there. Critters lurk. I shiver at the very thought.
ReplyDeleteNice idea
ReplyDeleteEverything you just said you need to do to your computer -- no, that is some foreign language you are speaking.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, happy trails and may the force be with you and bless you, my child.
Hopefully all your computer related "things" will survive.
It's different when you're older. When I was in my 20s I would have considered a task like this a treat. Now, it's dreadful.
ReplyDeleteLou: The GOOD thing about these computer problems is my under-desk area is cleaner than it's been in YEARS.
ReplyDeleteKath: Thanks.
Gordon: I hear that. Twenty years ago I'd have been right on this.
