Briefly

I just turned on my teevee and am gratified to see those surprisin' Habs are ahead of those disappointin' Caps... 2 - 1.  Ovechkin got his FIRST shot on goal in the series just as I tuned in.  Who'd a thunk it?

Heh.  Go Habs!

Update, 1835 hrs:  Good Grief.  The wheels are coming off the Caps' wagon.  4 - 2, Montreal.  Washington scores as we type... with 1:37 left in the second.   There's still a lot o' hockey to be played but it sure ain't lookin' good for Washington.

Update, 1901 hrs:  Caps turn up the heat... Ovechkin gets a goal to bring Washington within one.  This is GOOD stuff!

Update, 1915 hrs:  We have a hockey game.  Backstrom ties it with a pass from #8.  Three unanswered goals...

Update, 1925 hrs:  Montreal ties it takes the lead.  This is intense; Caps to go on the power play after the teevee time-out.  Wow.

Update, 1932 hrs:  My Bad on my last... Montreal took the lead, but the Caps tie it with 1:32 left in the third.  Seven seconds left... we WILL have overtime!

Update, 1952 hrs:  That didn't take long... Backstrom gets the winner and a hat trick 31 seconds in; Caps win.  The series is tied, but what an effort on Montreal's part!

  2. And Halak is playing like he understands what it means to be a goalie in Montreal.

  6. Heh. Tin foil hats are ALL the rage. I know you prolly don't read A to Y at Kukla's Korner, but there were over 1500 comments on the live-blog of last nite's Wings game... a great deal of which revolved around Wings fans wearing tin foil hats. Heh.

  8. I was on the live blog at Mile High Hockey all night. Too much fun. I have officially initiated the nickname "Galiardicus" for TJ Galiardi (Playing like a gladiator), and it is catching on.

1800 plus comments over there last night. I guess that's what OT will get you.

  14. A tweet from Wysh:

wyshynski: Well, at least Gomez had a good seat for how awful the power play looked without his selfish behind out there.

Heh. What a homer he is. And he sez he's a Devils fan.
