Right Now

Aiiieee.  Let me up... I've had enough.

It began raining around 0300 hrs this morning and switched to a wintry mix sometime around noon.  And now it's steady snow.  I'll refrain from making yet another global warming/climate change reference... but Dang!  I haven't seen this much snow in the seven years I've been in P-Ville.  Just sayin'.

  2. One of the reasons (among many) that I wanted to move to New Mexico was the snow. I think we got about 6" in Santa Fe today. I LOVE IT.

  3. I know, Towanda, we wouldn't have all these pinons, junipers and pines (sunflowers come with the spring rains) without this "moisture." But sheesh, I've got four foot piles here in Escabosa. "We're losing contact with the ground," as my wife said, referring to the little paths we're maintaning with the snowblower and shovel.

What is this? Lilekstown? I'll be seeing these slow-melting glaciers 'til June I figure.

  4. Shoveling snow for hours doesn't really make me all that happy. And doing it time and time again is getting old and wearing me out.

And can't escape to the beach, bec. there's snow there, too!! (Yeah, no need for global warm./climate change comments. But inches of snow ON the beach???)

They're forecasting 20 inches or more again starting tomorrow for us. But the grocery stores are making money, so be happy for them.

  5. Liking it here in the Mojave Desert! It has a rainy season of one week in January. It might get chilly but no more snow to shovel.

  6. Andy: I wish I could too.

Sharon: You knew what it was like going in, and Good On Ya. I knew what it was like going in, too. But this krep is outside the norm.

Bob: I can stand the rain, unlike Ann Peebles (and Tina T and hundreds of others). It's this frozen rain I hate. And I feel for ya, really I do.

Kath: I hear you, too. Shoveling precip ain't no fun at all. Stock up and stay warm this weekend!

Glenn: It snowed the year I was in Boron and the snow covered Mojave was one of the coolest (no pun...) things I've EVER seen. Seriously. But the snow was gone within hours.

  7. I'm with ya, Buck, on the global warming. We Okies have had two storms "worth naming" - BLIZZARD 2009!! and ICE STORM 2010!! - with another one (guess that's yours right now) on the way. As I've mentioned, my patio has not been dried out since before Christmas.

I heard on the news that Vegas has had more moisture this year than in all of 2009, which I think means the desert flowers might bloom. I'm thinking about a trip west.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
