Buck, on a difficult day such as this - these brought a much-needed smile to my face. Thank you. Thank you so very much.
ReplyDeleteMotivation rocks.
ReplyDeleteI would be proud to fly with those standards.
ReplyDeleteI wish our politicians could have just ten percent of the nerve and allons that our good service people and first responders have.
The Army used to have a great Cadence song (I never sang it, being a Marine and Sailor)
"Hey old Soldier...!
Tired Old Soldier.
Pick up your rifle and follow me...
I am the Infantry!"
My weapons are in the gun safe, waiting for Holger Dansk to awaken.
God Bless all our fighting men and women and those who fell fighting.
"Let's Roll."
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see that again. That's just one thought out of a hundred that these words conjure up now...and the other ninety-nine thoughts would distract from what you're trying to do here, so I'll just bite my tongue on those.
Thanks for putting these up, my friend.
Those did bring good feelings - thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you all. "Never forget."
ReplyDeleteSpent the day on a field trip to the Dyess MSA (bomb dump), got to spend a little time around some Bones in iso maintenance as well. One of them actually had some 9/11 related nose art...can't remember for sure but I think it was the "Let's Roll" that is depicted in a couple of the pictures you posted. IIRC, each USAF squadron is authorized to have one aircraft display that nose art.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, being around bombs wasn't a bad way to spend the day. Serves to focus your attention.

ReplyDeleteHeh. You got THAT right! And at least you were on the proper end of those bombs. It ain't ANY fun to be on the receiving end...
