Do My Priorities Require Adjustment?

So... back from Cannon Airplane Patch, where I dropped $93.05 at the Class VI store and $55.63 on food at the commissary. The haul from the Class VI was a case of mixed brews from New Belgium and what you see on the left.

The re-provisioning from the commissary will keep my tired old ass in victuals for a lil less than two weeks and doesn't count supplemental runs to Wally-World. The beer will be gone in ten days or so; the scotch will last a lot longer. Still and even, it seems like something is out of whack here.

I don't even wanna mention the cigars.

  1. Nope, I think you got it right.

  2. Buck, you're retired. You have entered the stage where your priorities can (and should) be whatever you please.

    Enjoy!

  3. Thank you both for the validation! I was thinking I was correct, but a quick look at my receipts planted that small seed of doubt. The lesson here is to never pay attention to rceipts, I suppose. :D

  4. Double Wood Balvenie; Haven't I mentioned that as a Veldt Lounge house Bottle? There is a half bottle of Founders Reserve hiding in the hutch.

    Decent stuff.

Try Auchentochin some time. Spelling may be slightly off.

  5. Moogie: Tanks!

Darryl: I don't recall you mentioning that, but I think you have great taste! As for the recommendation... I've spent the past 25 years of my adult life sampling various single-malts when in the bar... so I'll keep that one in mind.

  6. I remember when Toby and I were first married and going to school. We had no money at one point, but there was a case of beer in the fridge and a jar of olives. The cat got where it liked olives.

  7. I've had that scotch.

    It's good.

Me, I keep plenty of the cheap stuff around in addition to that good stuff you've got on display there ... or I'd be broke!

But that and a few good 'gars (I lean toward the pipes these days but I do likes me a good cigar) ...

I swear. One day, me, you, and Morgan... we've gotta meet somewhere. And there will be scotch and cigars.

  8. Auchentochen is a Lowland Single Malt.

  9. Phil: I'm with you on the Morgan, you, and I thing. It would be fun.

Lou: An olive-eating cat? Wow. But it sounds like you and Toby had your priorities straight when you were in school. :D

  10. Well...there's beer in the fridge, but no scotch or cigars...yet. I think that order is being placed first thing Monday!

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
