"He Flips! He SCOOOORES!"

Via Kukla's Korner:

The info accompanying the vid:
In a friendly game between Sweden and Switzerland, Swedish forward Linus Omark, scored one of the best shootout goals you'll ever see. In case you are wondering, the Edmonton Oilers drafted him in the 4th round of the 2007 NHL entry draft. He currently plays for Lulea HF, in the Swedish Elite League. Omark looks to be the latest in a long line of Swedish superstars.
That's the most unique shoot-out goal I've ever seen...

  1. He should've saved it for a more important game. Still very cool.

Have you ever seen the famous video of a college kid "pick up" the puck from behind the goal and bring it around front and toss it in?

  2. That was a Michigan St. game. Can't remember the kid's name. There was another truly amazing shootout goal by a nine year old kid a couple of years back - wish I could remember enough to point you towards a link.

  3. I love about this No.1 : the special almost-embarrassed smiles, afterward.

I love about this No. 2: how barely he made it. The goalie -almost- got a piece of the puck which -almost- hit too much of the netcage.

Unrelatedish: today at lunch I got to sort-of-dunk on an 8-foot goal. It took a few tries. Next time I'll bring better shoes and will warm up first.

  6. re: Piper -- I remember a tennis match from ~'83 in which Lendl a**holed an opponent with an underhanded drop serve. His previous serves had been so hard that the receiver was standing yards behind the baseline. So Lendl did his thing. I don't think anyone nice laughed.

In funnier things, I once won a volleyball point by accidentally dinking over the block of the net woman. Dialogue:

She: "By the way, what's your name?"

    Me: "Phil"

    She: "Phil, you suck."

    Heh.

Phil: BOTH your comments made me smile... a lot!

Jay: You're right, there was definitely a lil luck involved in that one.

Buck: I've never seen anything like it, either.

    Lou: Yup!
