The opening shot across the bow... concerning American beer... is well-taken, even though I'd heard it before (long ago and far away, whilst living in Ol' Blighty). Aussies have little, if ANY, grounds to criticize our beer, tho. I mean... Foster's? C'mon...
But... it ain't about the beer, ya know. It's the comment on the Thinkers of the Ages that's pretty danged funny. That and the shots taken at El-Eh.
h/t: Barry.
Buck, you must spend a lot of time surfing youtube. But it's funny.
ReplyDeleteAs for Aussie beer, I was born and bred in Milwaukee (long, long ago) but when I decided to live Down
Under I was introduced to what I believed, then and now, was the best beer brewed in the world.
Now don't compare the piss that is exported Foster's to the real thing in a pub. It is so different (or was when I was there) that there is really no noticeable similarity between the two.
But it's a fairly long trip to run down to the local for beeeah now.

ReplyDeleteNah... I just stole the vid from Barry. I only spend a lot of time on YouTube is looking for music and mo'sickle vids.
re: domestic/export Foster's. I've heard the same thing about Guinness, too, but have never drank either Guinness or Foster's in the Home Counties (so to speak). I did tip many more than a few pints of both beers that were brewed in England... and they tasted pretty much the same as they do here in the USofA. I'll take you at your word, tho!
And so I'll leave the same comment here that I did at Barry's: You can't post this without also taking one of the tests from Phil's post. I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteDoc: Mmmm-hmmm. Have we heard this before? The dog ate it? Really? ;-)
