In Today's Mail

"Dear Mike,

Don't hold your breath, Buddy. I appreciate the spiffy membership card and all that, but My Tribe has been a serious disappointment of late. I'm beginning to believe you guys couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were on the heel. But thanks for postage-paid return envelope you included with the beg. That was a nice touch.

Love,
Norman"

  1. Buck - very good, I feel the same way. Just look at my favorite Senator here in PA - that famous RINO Arlen Spector. What a waste of a good air.

I think the entire party needs the wire brush treatment.

    BT: Jimmy T sends.

  2. hm.....I guess the RNC figures we can't afford to give them any money no one has contacted me since the election, maybe I fell off their rolls.... I do have to say that just because things are all Democrats this and Democrats that, I do not feel that the Republicans are the disappointment everyone makes them out to be....country has not been hit since 9/11 so someone did something right, and in the great big book of everything, that is definitely something....at least to this intel soldier's wife it is....but maybe we just know a little more then everyone else.

  4. I fled the GOP in 2006... as in, formally changed my party registration to Independent. And I still get these damned fundraising letters.

Actually, there are so few Republicans on the island of Manhattan (comparatively) that before each election season, I meet a lot of people trying to gather signatures to put people on the GOP ballot (because they come to my door with a clipboard.)

One of these organizers actually asked me why I left the GOP. What a perfect set-up...

    "I didn't. Y'all left me."

Agreed. Another thing that makes me wonder: Seemingly not a day passes before another GOP congresscritter announces his retirement. Rats, sinking ship, yadda, yadda.

ASW: National security is a hot-button with me, and Dubya's done good in this space. VERY good. But politics is the ultimate game of "what have you done for me LATELY" and the GOP is MUCH less than impressive in this regard. They're bereft of ideas at the moment... all the good stuff is in the past.

Sharon: You're part of the letter, ya know. I'm printing this post and comments out and stuffing it in the return envelope. No check, though.

Barry: I'm not going to change my party affiliation just yet. You can't vote in party primaries if you're an independent in Texas, if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong, tho.

    Nice story!

  6. The GOP can go suck a goat.....as the old saying goes, they left me, I didn't leave them. Just so there is no mistake, the Libby DNC isn't getting a handout either....I'm filling the basement food pantry, and giving to the Salvation Army...screw the politicos.

  7. I got one of those stpid schnit things, too!

I gave a hundred bucks to the chicken, Thompson, then fifty bucks to the non-winner Romney and finally a hundred bucks to Sarah. I would think I have dumped enough into a losing cause.

Right now, I would be willing to back Blagojevich if he was running for President. There is no doubt that fellow has a pair of stones and can probably be counted on to keep America secure. I grow weary hoping for someone in the conservative cause to grow some.

Palin/Nugent sounds like a manly pair, but I reckon ol' Ted has more skeletons in his closet than a failed Funeral Director in Georgia.

  8. Geeze. Way back when, I used to be able to tell the difference between a Dem and a Rep. It may just be me, but I think the Reps have decided to outDem the Dems and therefore Dem guys had better get more representative. Or something.
    Here. Run with that.

Yup... I feel the same way. I'm just gonna sit here and watch for a bit. While I haven't given up on the GOP completely... I'm awfully danged close.

Cat sez: I think the Reps have decided to outDem the Dems and therefore Dem guys had better get more representative. Or something.

You've hit upon one of my BIGGEST issues, Cat. I don't like Big Gub'mint CONSERVATIVES (an oxymoron, if there ever was one) one damned bit more than I like Big Gub'mint Liberals. It's the Earmarks, Baby. In part...

  10. Pat: Agree on the "they left me" bit, as Barry noted.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
