SN1 sends this along this morning, with the following comment:
So we're in the middle of a kind of dust storm…
I didn't adjust my camera…that's the real color of the sky and outside the buildings…
I'm thinking his desk ain't quite as clean today. Just a feelin' I have, Gentle Reader.
Looks worse than Portales! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI've heard stories about that dust... hope they give them something to keep from breathing it in! Makes you wonder why anyone in their right mind would even want to live there!? (key words...right mind?)
ReplyDeleteooohhhh lovely......kind of reminds me of El Paso.....well maybe of the other side of the not so grand Rio Grand....in March maybe....
ReplyDeletelooks mighty eerriiieee.....I will have to ask the husband about his experiences with the strange and unusual.....
say hey to SN1 from us and tell him he is in our prayers.
Jenny: I think you're RIGHT. But only in color, methinks.
ReplyDeleteJenn: Your hubby has a good handle on it, from what I've heard, andto a MUCH lesser extent... what I've experienced.
Alison: I didn't include Buck's bits about the dust being relatively harmless. Or maybe the locals have somehow adapted over time... who knows? I'm with ya, tho, on the "Why would anyone..." thing.
ASW: I'm sure your hubby has experience with this sort of thing. How could he not? And thanks for the good wishes, yet again.
Wow, talk about red sky at morning! I have been in Lubbock when I could not see across the street due to the sand. Now, I know I should send dust masks to my next soldier.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my bud was over there, and he told me some tales of serious sand/dust storms. Definitely not easy to keep that stuff from coming through the cracks. God bless him.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of pictures just like that one. Seems as though the weather is like that quite frequently.
