Heh

Further to today’s first post, from Ms. Alexandrova’s other blog

So THIS is what the end-stages of BDS look like. I've been told there's no cure, and I'm beginning to believe it.
So, Larisa and Fellow Travelers... One hopes your husbands/wives, parents, friends, or *someone* close to you arranges an intervention before you hurt yourselves. Paranoid schizophrenia just ain't fun to watch, in addition to being dangerous to you and those around you.
Get help.
RESPONSE FROM LARISA ALEXANDROVNA
Which part of a trillion dollar money grab - our money - without any oversight whatsoever is part of this paranoid schizophrenia? Do tell us young Buck what the proper reaction to this situation might be, mkay? Insults without addressing anything of substance simply makes you look foolish - and generally, identifies you as an asshole straight away. Welcome to the party by the way. I will let the other voices in my head know we have a new guest;)

Hey!  I’m young again!  But I suppose me being an asshole kinda-sorta offsets my new-found youth.  Oh, well.  At least I’m not batshit crazy.  I’ll count my blessings.

  1. I am getting the impression that Larisa is not quite smitten with you, young Buck. LOL

  2. Insults without addressing anything of substance? Is that really what she said? Boy is that the pot calling the kettle black!

Trillion dollar money grab as well? So she supports a candidate who has already promised to raise taxes?

    Talk about a reality disconnect.

  3. I got the same sort of feeling, Sharon. I briefly considered responding... but thought better of it... remembering the punch line from that ol' politically incorrect joke about the parallels between the Special Olympics and arguing on the 'net. Which I won't repeat here. ;-)

Becky: You're right, of course. I'm just amazed that her reaction to a bi-partisan effort to resolve the financial melt-down was a screed about fascism, "crimes," impeachment, and revolution... with a capital "R." If that ain't schizophrenic behavior I don't know WHAT is.

  4. Jeez Buck... slumming again huh? (Looking for love in all the wrong places...) I can only stand to look at the light for so long before I go blind. You're a stronger person than I! An attempt to respond to that freaking nonsense is just way beyond my abilities. Too bad some folks are so bent out of shape there's no reasoning with them. It's amazing to see what kind of stuff comes out when you poke them.... heh.

  5. I'm pullin' for you to become Olby's next Worst Person In The World. Until then, congratulations on this latest promotion.

  6. After reading through the comments on Ms. Alexandrova’s other post, it seems one crazy sets the others on fire. Do be careful playing near the fire, Young Buck :)

  7. Alison sez: (Looking for love in all the wrong places...)

And that is the story of my life, LOL! But, Hey! I was semi-successful, once. Ya never know...

But: I hear ya. As I said elsewhere, I'm just a gawker. Sometimes I just can't help myself.

Morgan sez: I'm pullin' for you to become Olby's next Worst Person In The World. Until then, congratulations on this latest promotion.

Dang... being the Worst Person in the World is quite beyond my wildest fantasy. But, I appreciate the sentiment.

I hear ya. I responded to Ms. Alexandrovna's comment to my comment, after all. Against my better judgment. But it's only good manners (ha) to acknowledge a response. It remains to be seen what will happen in this space, but I included a link to EIP this last time around. That may have been REALLY stupid, but we shall see. Most moonbats don't venture far beyond their echo chambers, generally speaking.

  8. I can only read so much before I get sick. You must have a much stronger stomach than I, young Buck.
I did attempt a civil conversation with the left side of the family (BIL) this week. I really tried to understand the thinking, really, I did try, but I don't understand. period.

...and yes, I'll be calling you Young Buck from now on.

  9. Young Buck. LOL

Marisa has started something and she doesn't even realize it!

  10. "Young Buck", ha ha. In addition to your many fine achievements you managed to raise the ire of the liberals.....Fine job my friend, what great pleasure it is to raise a little mischief and add a little aggravation to ones enemies otherwise sour life.

Well. In all seriousness... I salute you, Susan. I hope your conversation with the BIL was a dialog, in that he listened to you as well as you to him. I consider dialog with a Liberal to be a success. At least they heard the opposition. And vice versa. I have these sorts of conversations via email with a friend of long standing who's on the "other side." We agree to disagree at least 90% of the time, but I like to think we each hear the other.

    Dan: Thanks, Bud... in general!

And to all of you going on about the "young Buck" thingie... I predict SN1 will be QUITE pleased at this development, as he's labored under the "young Buck" stigma all his life... as I did with my father before me. In future SN1 will be able to say "nunh-unh. Not ME. That's the Ol Man you're talking about." :-)

  12. Oh, dear. I guess human nature will always be the same. All our education just makes us a little fancier and more inane. But maybe our words are an improvement over pitchforks in the village square. Very tiresome and distubing, though.

I remember thinking how crazy people seemed when they ranted about the Vince Foster conspiracy. (I was a Democrat then). Now I'm "lucky" enough to be on the other side and rolling my eyes over BDS and Truthers. I guess there will always be a percentage of the population riled up like this, suffering with imagined injustice. Too bad. Reality is going by the wayside in the meantime.

And Lou is right, they do feed off each other. Maybe one of these days, doctors will ask patients with stress related diseases, "Do you blog?"

  13. Oh my. I just read Larisa's profile. She's a Truther, young Buck. No wonder you felt as though you were dealing with the Mad Hatter. She had to leave Odessa because Putin considered her dangerous. She had quite a tussle with Confederate Yankee as well because he thinks she should be locked up for wanting to foment a revolution. I wonder if there is some country without fascism in which Ms. Alexandrova could happily settle?

Is it some sort of Millenium psychosis, or have there always been so many nuts abroad? Crazy aunties used to be locked up in the attic in the old days. Now they're on the blogs.

I read her profile, as well, Bec, and more than a few of her other posts before I dropped my first comment. I can relate to the woman in some respects and admire her in others (very few, but chief among them is her background as a refugee, and I admire her language skills... being bi-lingual and all).

She's right to be afraid of Putin, because Putin's enemies have a bad habit of dropping dead... no matter where they happen to be living. But that doesn't give her a pass for her inane conspiracy theories and rants about American "fascism," in my book.

As for where she might be happy? New Zealand, perhaps. But then again, more than likely not. I get the feeling she lives to stir the pot, and there just isn't a whole helluva lot of pot-stirring to be done in Auckland, eh?

  15. I have to laugh - kinda - when these people spout about Bush being responsible for the current economic situation, especially regarding Fannie & Freddie.

As far as I can tell, Congress is responsible - both parties. They've had at least 2 opportunities since 2003 to institute regulatory oversight that didn't exist - one at the prompting of President Bush, the other from Sen. John McCain.

Both of whom are Republicans. And where was their precious Obama during the 2005 vote?

    Present.

    That's all he'll ever be - present.

Even their precious Dem-controlled Congress of today has thrown up their hands, having Harry Reid say "we don't know what to do".

Obama was on 60 Minutes last night; I didn't want but heard this on the radio news this morning: Obama talked about how the current economic situation is all the fault of the Bush Administration. He made no mention of the 2 pieces of legislation aforementioned, and neglected to take responsibility for his vote of "Present" in 2005.

    Asshole.

My blood pressure is UP on this - and I didn't even venture into the swamp with Buck.

Don't know how you do it sir.

  16. And the torch is passed...back!

    Young Buck no more!

Although truthfully I don't have to worry about being called that much anymore, seeing as how 'round these parts I'm SN1, at home I'm Buck, here in the sandbox I'm usually Capt or Sir (except for my seniors, and then I'm Buck again!)and over at my (web) place I'm afcaptbuck.

    But hey!!! I like it!

    ;)

    Good wishes all around!

    SN1

  17. Kris: Good points. I'm wondering WHY McCain isn't concentrating on his efforts to regulate Fannie/Freddy and the Dems successful efforts to kill those bills in his current round of ads. But... nooo. All we're getting is frickin' "Populist Lite" rhetoric. I'm beginning to think McCain hired the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight to run his campaign.

Buck: You'll always be Young Buck in these parts, no matter WHAT our EIP friends say, LOL!

  18. afcaptbuck:

At least hopefully you were never called "Little Buck" or "Junior".

I had cousins who got stuck with those labels, and that is an awful thing to do to a child.

Young Buck is kind of cool.
