We Are SO Deprived...

...when it comes to creative (and humorous) teevee advertising in this country. Via Blog-Bud Morgan, here's a lil over eight minutes of allegedly banned advertisements...

OK, some of the ads ARE American, and I've even seen a couple of 'em on teevee myownself. But the umbrella/condom and Ikea "new bed" ads simply cracked me up, and I've never seen those on MY teevee, and likely never will. Why can't we have humorous entertainment in our ads? Enquiring Minds wanna know...

  1. Thanks for the link, friend, and I'm glad it cheered you up.

These things have to be the most fun about blogging, but I feel this surge of guilt when I do it. Someone else does all the work...someone else hosts it...I copy, paste, make the day for countless friends and strangers.

It should be noted this is Installment 1 of, I think, eight -- I was watching 2 and 3 and they're just as good.

  2. The last one - the "get in shape" - cracked me up.

  3. Some of those were funny! The last one cracked me up as well. When Cody was a baby, he actually almost did that to a marine buddy of mine. Cody was just a few weeks old, and Dixon wanted to hold him. Well, Cody was hungry, and while Dix was holding him, he began looking around for something to latch on to. Dix gave him back in a hurry!

  6. Morgan: I feel the same sort of guilt, occasionally. But I will post this sort of stuff as long as there's "embed code" available. And that's not always the case with YouTube. As for the h/t... you're welcome. Credit where credit is due, and all that.

And thank you, Ladies, for your comments. It seems like the "get in shape" ad was a big hit with the moms, eh? The Ikea one is still MY favorite... I love the look on the woman's face. I've seen that look too many times (in the past, not recently... more's the pity) to NOT get a laugh out of it!

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
