Congratulations are in order for the Pittsburgh Penguins, too. They had a great season and were half of the most memorable Stanley Cup Final in years. This year's series was the second-best I've ever seen, exceeded only by the Wings' win in 1997. And that one was best simply because it ended that infamous 42-year drought. But... as far as the playing and the competition goes? NONE better than this year. My hat's off to the Pens for that.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome game! I nearly had a heart attack just before the end when Pittsburg almost scored! You're right Buck, both teams played hard, gave it their all and gave us a great game to watch!

ReplyDeleteI saw most of the third period. I tuned in shortly before Fleury took that stick to the neck. ouch. What I saw was a very exciting game. I was certain they had tied it up.

Being 90 degrees with humidity to match in the Midwest today...I'd say "Ice" Hockey is due for it's short off season.

Fire Fox: I really meant it when I said this was one of the best series of all time. And, yeah: heart attack CITY in the last minute! SN1 and I were on the phone for the last minute (and the 15 celebratory minutes that followed) and we both danged near fell over!
