I'm just back from Cannon Airplane Patch and I was wonderin'... just how hot is it? The answer: It's frickin' HOT! Some might say it's too danged hot and at this point I'd be inclined to agree.
According to the WX Channel... and note the wind... which was blowing The Green Hornet all over the road out and back to the base:
Which would be a record, if one believes this:
I believe. But...it's nice and cool inside. So far, anyway.

OK, I do feel sorry for you because 103 is freakin' hot. On the other hand I kinda don't feel all that sorry because it says that it is 103 and it feels like 103, and your overnight low is 60. In Oklahoma 103 feels like 110 and the overnight low would be somewhere around 95 - which would feel like 99. It could be worse...just sayin. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sending cool thoughts your way, we haven't reached such temperatures here so far.
Heat is bad Buck...but you could be in Iowa or Wisconsin....flood/storm city for the past 2 weeks or more.
ReplyDeleteFather-in-law e-mails the warnings almost daily.
Poor Buck!
ReplyDeleteThe wind has been the pits, but it has kept things a little cooler here than normal. I can live with temps in the 90's. It is funny that the weatherman (aka Chicken Little) has been going on about the heat. The wind is the story!
ReplyDeletePat's right: it's childish to bitch about a lil heat when others are losing their homes to the weather. But: I reserve the right to be childish as I sweat...
ReplyDeleteLast evening was actually quite pleasant. I sat outside for a little over an hour after the wind died down to a balmy 20 mph or so and as the sun was setting. Had me a cigar and about six fingers of single-malt, in three two-finger installments. My attitude was thereby adjusted.
Amy: I'll take our dry heat over anyone else's humidity anytime! And I have a lil experience with OK weather, too. ;-)
Lou: The wind is the story, indeed. I found myself wishing I'd taken the camera as I left the base yesterday. There were some truly impressive dust clouds on the horizon, and they were headed your way...
Thanks, Ash.
